I’ve made it a personal mission to learn more and raise awareness. Two charities doing incredible work in this space are Prostate Cancer Research and Prostate Cancer UK. They’re campaigning for a national screening programme.

After speaking to the team at the Prostate Cancer UK stall during this years conference, I’ve been reflecting a lot on how important awareness and early testing are. I want to thank them for their insight, and I’d like to share a few facts with you.

I’m calling for the abolition of the two-child benefit cap because it’s holding too many families back. We live in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, yet far too many children are growing up in poverty.

I’m absolutely delighted to see the structure of the new social housing on Quin Street starting to peep over the construction fencing!. It's the first phase of the Leyland Town Deal, helping to drive forward the councils ambitious plans that will transform our town centre for generations to come.

I had a brilliant time visiting Wellfield Academy this morning and meeting both students and staff.

I was really pleased to be back at Heskin Village Hall today to present them with a cheque from the Morrisons Foundation for £5,500 which is going to help with vital repairs and upgrades so the community can enjoy the hall for years to come.

Today marks 80 years since Victory over Japan Day—an historic moment that brought the Second World War to its close, though at an unimaginable cost.

I had the privilege of visiting BAE Systems Air in Warton—an inspiring experience that showcased the very best of British aerospace innovation. I met with the incredibly skilled workforce driving forward our national defence capabilities and toured their world-class facilities.

After visiting Croston on New Year’s Day and witnessing first-hand the devastation caused by the flooding to people’s homes and the disruption to their families it became a personal priority of mine to ensure everything possible was being done to prevent it from happening again.

As a dad, I cannot begin to imagine the horror of watching your child starve or be caught in conflict while simply trying to find food. What we are witnessing in Gaza is utterly inhumane. My constituents across South Ribble have written to me in their hundreds, demanding action and I agree with them. I’ve written to the Foreign Secretary urging immediate steps to protect civilians, ensure aid is delivered, and support a lasting path to peace.

With hundreds of South Ribble residents employed at BAE Systems in Samlesbury and Warton, where the world-class Typhoon fighter jet is assembled, it’s fantastic to see a major step forward in the aircraft’s export to Türkiye.
