Leyland Cadet's

It was a real pleasure to visit the Dunkirk Detachment of the Lancashire Army Cadet Force in Leyland as part of National Cadet Week!

The Army Cadets offer young people a fantastic opportunity to develop confidence, discipline, leadership and teamwork, while making new friends and learning skills that will stay with them for life.

It was great to meet so many enthusiastic young people, including Cadet Company Sergeant Major Fred Palmer-Davies, and to see first-hand the opportunities available to them.

A huge thank you to Lieutenant Nathan Howson, Detachment Commander, and all the dedicated adult volunteers who give their time to support and inspire the next generation.

For those considering a future career in the Armed Forces, it's also a brilliant way to build a strong foundation for military life. But you don't have to want a career in the Army to benefit from everything the Cadets have to offer. Having served in the Armed Forces myself, I know just how valuable the skills, friendships and experiences that come with military life can be.

If you're a young person in South Ribble looking for a new challenge, why not give the Army Cadets a go?
