Moor Road Planning Application

I've been working closely with the community in Croston and it's clear the village can't cope with any further developments until significant issues are addressed. Last night, I spoke at Chorley Council's Planning Committee to object to the proposed Moor Road development, having recently heard from the ‘Croston Says No’ campaign.

As Croston's MP, my job is to make sure residents' voices are heard, and to set out the serious planning concerns raised by the community, especially around the risk of flooding and greenbelt, and urged the committee to carefully consider the impact this development could have on the village. Whatever your view on new housing, I’m not anti-development because I recognise there is as severe national housing shortage, but I believe that developments must be in the right place with the right infrastructure and must not put existing communities at greater risk.

Thank you to everyone who has campaigned, attended meetings and spoken up for Croston. I'll continue working with residents to make sure your concerns are clearly heard.

You can watch my short speech to the planning committee here (you are only permitted to speak for 3 minutes!)
