After visiting Croston on New Year’s Day and witnessing first-hand the devastation caused by the flooding to people’s homes and the disruption to their families it became a personal priority of mine to ensure everything possible was being done to prevent it from happening again.

I recently had a productive meeting with Emma Hardy MP, the Minister for Flooding at the Department for Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

The floods in Croston over the New Year were utterly devastating for so many in the village.

It was an absolute honour to visit Croston Park and meet not one, but two of South Ribble’s newest centenarians; Hilda and Marion.
