Happy New Year to Our Armed Forces

Back to work this week, but I know many will have spent this Christmas away from their families. I know what that’s like and how hard it can be, especially when it means being away from your children. This photo is from my own time at back in 1996 at with the rest of the troops (spot me if you can) Royal School of Military Engineering in Chatham.
I just want to say a special thank you to all those who serve our King and country, sacrificing time with their loved ones over Christmas and, more profoundly, standing ready to make the ultimate sacrifice for us all.
I’m really pleased to start this year knowing that the Government is taking our Armed Forces seriously, delivering the biggest pay rise in 20 years and a landmark £9 billion investment to renew Armed Forces housing, bringing 36,000 homes back into public ownership.
Here’s to our Armed Forces in 2026!
