Visit Howick CofE Primary School

It was a real pleasure to visit Howick CofE Primary School during UK Parliament Week and meet some of the youngest budding politicians I’ve ever encountered!

The school runs an impressive council where two representatives from each year group work together to find ways to improve their school. It’s fantastic to see pupils actively taking part in a democratic process; building skills like creative and persuasive writing, constructive debate, and teamwork from such an early age. I even picked up a few tips myself!

After meeting the council, I had the chance to speak with all the students, who asked some brilliant questions about my role as an MP.

Huge credit to the staff for inspiring the next generation and helping students engage with British democracy in such a meaningful way.
