This week I had the opportunity to visit the fantastic facilities at Leyland Cricket Club on Fox Lane, with some very special guests.
Lisa Nandy MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and representatives from the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) came along to launch a new initiative that looks to further expand girls’ cricket.
In the training session we were also joined by two England and Manchester Originals stars Sophie Ecclestone and Phil Salt, despite both playing the night before.
We all saw the fantastic achievement of the Lionesses last month and with the Women’s Rugby & Cricket World Cups on the horizon, it is an exciting time to be involved in the women’s game.
Whilst at the ground it was great to see the preparations happening for 'Fox Fest' which is happening across this coming weekend at Fox Lane Sports Club Bar & Function Room- Get yourself along!
