I was really pleased to be back at Heskin Village Hall today to present them with a cheque from the Morrisons Foundation for £5,500 which is going to help with vital repairs and upgrades so the community can enjoy the hall for years to come.
I visited the hall only a few months ago, so it was great to be back today and see how many improvements have already been made. With the weather turning colder , upgrading the central heating was essential—and I can confirm it works, as the hall is lovely and warm today. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the planned enhancements in the future.
Village halls like this are vital for bringing people together, fostering community spirit and providing a hive of activity for local residents. I’m delighted that this valued community asset is being repaired and improved so it can continue to serve generations to come.
A huge thank you to Hannah and Rebecca and the rest of the team at Morrisons in Chorley for their generous donation; to Alan Whittiker, Village Hall Committee Chair, for showing me around; to Chorley Councillor Arjun Singh, who submitted the grant application; and to everyone helping to keep Heskin Village Hall at the heart of village life, including the many groups and individuals who use it every day.
