Gold Standard Taxi's

When you get in a taxi, you should never have to wonder whether you're in safe hands.

On Friday I joined South Ribble Borough Council to launch their new Gold Standard

Taxi Driver Scheme. It’s a badge of honour for drivers who've gone the extra mile (pun absolutely intended):

It’s proof that every Gold Standard driver has gone above and beyond, with:

•  Enhanced DBS checks and monitoring

•  Safeguarding training

•  Medical assessments

•  Local knowledge testing

•  Professional driver qualifications

  
  

It was great to meet the cabbies at Avacab, and South Ribble Taxis, who are getting behind the scheme from day one. Our local drivers work incredibly hard, often at all hours, and this is well-deserved recognition of their professionalism.

Next time you book a cab, have a look out for the Gold Standard badge and lanyard, you can also scan the QR code to check your driver's credentials.
