Fighting for Fairness for Our Hospices

I was shocked to recently discover that while some areas fully fund hospice medication, others don’t fund it at all. Even worse, hospices in deprived areas often receive less support than those in more affluent ones. This surely cannot be right.
Funding is allocated by local Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) which are a part of the NHS. The boards are responsible for determining the distribution of financial resources including medicine and prescriptions.
Today, during Prime Minister’s Questions, I raised this issue and urged the Prime Minister to ensure that all hospices receive free medication, regardless of their postcode.
