Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment

It was a real honour to inspect the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment this morning at the ceremony to grant them the Freedom of the Borough of South Ribble.

The regiment was impeccably turned out, as you would expect, and it is a privilege for the Borough to recognise their service in this way. As the first regiment in over 30 years to be granted this honour, it marks an important moment for our community, particularly given the strong links locally, with many current and former service personnel from the regiment living across South Ribble.

Thank you to all the residents who came out to support the event, it means a great deal and helped make the occasion truly special.
