This Labour government has reached its 100-day milestone, and what a transformative 100 days it has been! Together, we’ve achieved remarkable progress, delivering real change for the people of Britain. Here’s how a Labour government is making a difference:
Railways: Brought back into public ownership, ensuring better services for all.
Renters Reform Bill: Ending unfair evictions and protecting tenants’ rights.
Healthcare: Doctors are back in theatres, tackling NHS waiting lists head-on.
Planning Reforms: Unlocking Britain’s potential and getting the nation building again.
Border Security Command: Strengthening our borders with a dedicated approach.
Renewable Energy: New solar and offshore wind projects are powering up our future.
Onshore Wind Ban Lifted: Removing barriers to clean energy innovation.
Great British Energy: Launched as a publicly owned energy company.
Education: One-word Ofsted judgements are gone, creating a fairer system for schools and teachers.
But the progress doesn’t stop at the national level. Here in South Ribble, I’ve been actively engaging with our community:
Meeting police officers in our town centres to discuss safety.
Listening to farmers on our rural lands and prison officers at our two local prisons.
Connecting with high street business owners and visiting major employers like Tesco.
Hearing directly from residents about their concerns and aspirations.
I’ve also had the privilege of visiting schools to meet the next generation, celebrating local milestones like the opening of the new temporary market, Leyland Heritage Centre’s 50th anniversary, and the vibrant Taste of Leyland event.
With my new team, we’ve hit the ground running—setting up the office, responding to over 1,000 emails, and tackling a wide range of cases. And this is just the beginning.
Looking ahead, we’re committed to:
Cracking down on knife crime.
Ensuring a real living wage for workers.
Increasing the number of teachers, police officers, and NHS operations.
Levelling up workers’ rights.
Rebuilding and revitalizing our public services.
Change has begun, and every day we are building a Britain that truly belongs to you. Together, we’re shaping a brighter future for South Ribble and beyond.
