Wes Streeting visits Chorley and South Ribble General Hospital

Many thanks to Wes Streeting for taking the time to visit Chorley & South Ribble General Hospital - especially over the Christmas and New Year break. It was a real pleasure to welcome the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care alongside Chorley MP Sir Lindsay Hoyle, following our recent meeting in Parliament.

Wes, Lindsay and myself spent valuable time speaking directly with staff and patients, making a real effort to understand the challenges and pressures facing our local services. It was also a great opportunity to showcase the hospital and discuss the need for additional services. Including the possibility extended A&E hours and bringing forward plans for a new replacement facility.

I’m determined to keep pushing hard for our local hospital, ensuring local peoples voices are heard and properly represented. I’ll also continue making the case for a brand-new, state-of-the-art hospital on the Cuerden site to serve us better in the future and for generations to come.
