Having served in the Falkland Islands on two operational tours with the British Army in 1990 and 1992, the Falklands hold a special place in my heart, full of cherished memories.
It was an honour to meet with representatives from the Falkland Islands Government in Parliament to discuss two critical matters: the Falkland Islanders' fundamental right to self-determination and the strategic importance of the islands.
I am deeply committed to supporting the people of the Falklands in their steadfast wish to remain British. Their voices and aspirations deserve unwavering respect and recognition, and I am proud to stand firmly with them.
The Falklands have an enduring significance for all of us, and I will continue to advocate for the rights and priorities of its people. Together, we honour their history, celebrate their resilience, and secure their future.
