Paul Foster MP Meeting Oliver Scanlan, Member of Youth Parliament

Over the Christmas period, I had the pleasure of meeting Oliver Scanlan, our Member of Youth Parliament for South Ribble and Preston, who kindly accepted my invitation to meet.

Since his election in April, Oliver has been actively championing the voices of young people. He has chaired several meetings with Lancashire cabinet members, ensuring that the concerns and aspirations of young people are heard. He also attended the Youth Parliament annual conference, where he contributed to discussions on national issues affecting young people across Britain.

In addition to his parliamentary duties, Oliver has been deeply involved in community action. He has participated in food drives at the South Ribble zone and took part in a sponsored walk for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) in September, demonstrating his commitment to making a tangible difference.

Staying connected with the issues and concerns facing young people is incredibly important to me, as they represent the future of our community. I am so pleased to have met Oliver and look forward to hearing more about his work in the future.

Oliver is a true credit to South Ribble. Thank you, Oliver, for everything you are doing to give young people a voice in our community. Your dedication and passion are truly inspiring.
