What a joy it was to celebrate this incredible milestone with the young people and staff yesterday — and what a celebration it turned out to be!
The pupils put on a truly fantastic performance:
Year 3 wowed everyone with The Longton Rap
Year 4 beautifully sang When I Grow Up from Matilda the Musical
Year 5 lit up the room with a dance to Firework by Katy Perry
Reception class stole hearts as they confidently acted out nursery rhymes like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Incy Wincy Spider, and more.
And of course… we all joined in for a big, heartfelt Happy Birthday!
It was also a double celebration as we marked Vinny’s 5th Birthday too — a special moment in a special place.
I was really impressed by the hospitality. The young people were brilliant hosts, making sure we were looked after, offering a cup of tea, and proudly showing Paul around the school.
I had a fantastic day. The atmosphere was warm, joyful, and a real credit to the governors, to Headteacher Julie Brown, and most of all to the amazing young people who make Longton Primary the wonderful school it is.
