British Heart Foundation Appeal

The British Heart Foundation does truly life-changing work, and I felt privileged to join them at one of the 65 red benches they've placed across the UK as part of their Keep Us Beating campaign.

Each bench tells a powerful, real-life story of someone living with a cardiovascular condition. They're a quiet but moving reminder of just how many lives heart disease touches.

I shared my own experience with Sarah and we talked about why lifesaving research matters so much, and what we can do to support the Government's ambition to cut premature deaths from heart disease and stroke by a quarter within the next decade.

This is exactly why I recently led a debate in Westminster Hall on cardiovascular health, because these aren't just statistics. They're people's lives, families and futures. Raising these stories in Parliament is how we keep the pressure on and make sure this ambition becomes a reality.

Every conversation like this brings us a step closer.
