I had the pleasure of visiting Leyland’s new temporary market on its opening day. It was wonderful to reconnect with familiar traders and meet some new faces.

The market has been relocated to Kings Court for the next 12 months to facilitate a comprehensive refurbishment of the original building. This refurbishment is part of the multi-million-pound Leyland Town Deal, aimed at transforming the town centre and market area. The improvements will include updated branding and signage, upgraded central stalls, new external stalls, and a sustainable roof structure.

The temporary location at Kings Court is conveniently situated less than a five-minute walk from the original market, ensuring easy access for all. The market will continue to operate on its usual days: Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.

I encourage everyone to visit the temporary market and support our local independent traders. Your patronage is vital to the success of our community businesses.
